"Moments in Motion" was created between midnight and 4am. Its quiet then and I was trying to find a way to disengage. Really what I needed was an escape, a way to free my mind. Sitting at the piano at 2am is wonderfully freeing.
I found the beginning ostinato and chords changes almost immediately. And I just played them over and over until I was lost in the motion. It calmed me...and I new immediately I had something I liked.
The Bridge was a different story! It went through quite a few re-writes before I was happy. Finding a space that felt different yet still connected took me a bit and really didn't completely come together until Pete tracked bass. There wasn't supposed to be a full melody there originally. But Pete played something that was just perfect for the vibe and really just made the part magical to me.
